Varroa Medication Distributed to Beekeepers in 4 Districts of Erzincan
In Erzincan and its districts, where beekeeping is widely practiced, training was provided to farmers engaged in beekeeping, along with the distribution of varroa medication. Funded by the Erzincan Special Administration and jointly carried out by the Erzincan Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and the Erzincan Beekeepers Association, the project included training for beekeepers in the districts of Kemah, İliç, Kemaliye, and Refahiye under the "Training on the Use of Oxalic Acid in Varroa Control" program. The training covered programs aimed at combating the varroa parasite, which negatively affects colony health, leads to colony losses, and decreases productivity in the beekeeping sector.
Training and Support for Beekeepers
Rahmi Özendi, President of the Erzincan Beekeepers Association, stated that they will continue to inform and support beekeepers to ensure that colonies in Erzincan and its districts, which have a promising future in the beekeeping sector, can continue to produce healthily and to create a sustainable industry. Dr. Ali Korkmaz, who provided training to beekeepers on combating varroa, offered practical tips on detecting the varroa parasite and the measures that can be taken against it.
