Privacy Policy
1. Controller
The controller for the processing of personal data via the BeesLike Platform is Beeslike B.V., Hopmansstraat 73, 4702HT Roosendaal, Nederland, KvK 98161997. Questions about privacy and requests regarding your rights: info@beeslike.com. This policy explains which personal data we process, why, on which legal basis, with whom we share it and which rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/AVG) and, for users in Turkey, the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK).
2. Which data we process
- Account data: name, e-mail address, password (stored encrypted), telephone number and country code, language, city/region, profile photo, member type.
- Beekeeping data: apiaries and their location, hives, queens, inspections, treatments, feeding, harvests, stock, photos, videos and notes.
- Voice and assistant data: voice recordings and their transcripts when you use voice inspections or the Maya assistant, and the questions you ask.
- Community and communication data: memberships, posts, comments, messages, likes, shares, course enrolments and test results.
- Firm and shop data: company details, contact persons, products, orders, advertisements and e-mail campaigns.
- Payment and invoice data: amounts, payment method, transaction references, invoices, billing name and country. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, device and browser data, app version, log files, approximate location derived from the IP address, pages and features used, push tokens, cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Providing the Platform and your membership, including apiary management, voice inspections, communities, courses, marketplace and support — performance of the contract (art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Payments, invoicing and accounting — contract and legal obligation (art. 6(1)(b) and (c)); invoices are kept for 7 years (Dutch tax law).
- Security, fraud prevention and enforcing our Terms (including the limits of the free membership) — legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)).
- Improving and developing our services, statistics and AI models (voice recognition, the Maya assistant, disease/varroa/wing analyses, yield and flowering forecasts) using pseudonymised, anonymised or aggregated data — legitimate interest in innovating and offering better services; you can object at any time (see section 8).
- Adding identifiable photos or voice recordings to training datasets — only with your consent (art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
- Newsletters, offers and push notifications — your consent, or for existing customers our legitimate interest in sending information on similar services; you can unsubscribe at any time.
- Showing regional information (weather, flowering, pests, nearby beekeepers, communities and shops) based on your location or country — contract and legitimate interest.
- Legal claims and requests of authorities — legal obligation and legitimate interest.
4. Anonymised and aggregated data
We may combine data of many users into anonymised or aggregated information that can no longer be traced to an individual (for example regional statistics on colony health, honey yield, disease and pest occurrence, flowering periods). Such data is not personal data; we may use, publish and share or license it to third parties such as research institutions, authorities, beekeeping associations and commercial partners. We do not sell your personal data.
5. Who receives your data
We share personal data only where necessary with:
- Processors that work for us under a data processing agreement: hosting and servers (EU), cloud storage and content delivery (for example Cloudflare, Bunny.net), e-mail delivery, payment providers (Mollie B.V.; for Turkey iyzico/PayTR, which may act as independent controllers for payment data), speech and AI service providers (for example Google, Deepgram, Anthropic, OpenAI) used for transcription, translation and assistant answers, and our own model servers.
- Other users, to the extent you publish content or join a community (for example your name and posts are visible to members of that community; sellers receive the data needed for delivery).
- Community administrators and course providers, for the memberships and enrolments you request.
- Authorities, if we are legally obliged, and advisers (accountant, lawyer) bound by confidentiality.
- A buyer or successor of (part of) our business, in case of a merger, acquisition or reorganisation, under the same protection.
6. Transfers outside the EU/EEA
Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area (for example in the United States). We only do so with appropriate safeguards, such as an adequacy decision (including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. For users in Turkey: your data is transferred to and stored in the Netherlands/EU, where the Platform is operated; see section 11.
7. Retention
- Account and beekeeping data: as long as you have an account; after deletion of the account we delete or anonymise it within 30 days, except backups which are overwritten within 90 days.
- Invoices, payments and accounting records: 7 years (legal obligation).
- Voice recordings without content are deleted automatically after a short period; other recordings as long as the related inspection exists.
- Log and security data: up to 12 months.
- Content in communities may remain visible in anonymised form ("former member") after you leave, to keep conversations understandable.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (including the use of your data for developing our services and models), and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. Many settings can be changed directly in your account: notification and e-mail preferences, newsletter, training-data consent and deletion of your account. For other requests e-mail info@beeslike.com; we respond within one month and may ask you to verify your identity. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the supervisory authority in your country (in Turkey: the KVKK Board).
9. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access restrictions, logging and backups. No system is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password and inform us immediately of any suspected misuse.
10. Children
The Platform is intended for persons aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly process data of children under 16 without the consent of a parent or guardian.
11. Information for users in Turkey (KVKK Article 10)
Data controller: Beeslike B.V. (the Netherlands). Your personal data listed above is processed for the purposes in section 3, on the legal grounds of KVKK Article 5 (performance of a contract, legal obligation, legitimate interest and, where required, explicit consent), and collected electronically through the website, the apps and e-mail. Because the Platform is operated from the Netherlands, your data is transferred abroad under KVKK Article 9 on the basis of appropriate safeguards or, where required, your explicit consent. You have the rights listed in KVKK Article 11 (including to learn whether your data is processed, to request correction or deletion, and to object). Applications: info@beeslike.com.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes are announced on the Platform or by e-mail. The current version is always available at www.beeslike.com.
