Beekeeping is Developing in Erzurum

Erzurum has potential for beekeeping due to its vast meadows and pastures as well as its climatic features. With over 2,000 local beekeepers, Erzurum hosts more than 1,600 migratory beekeepers from outside the province during the honey production season. In this regard, the efforts made in beekeeping activities in Erzurum are of national importance. The Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Alpaslan Kenger, stated that Erzurum is an advantageous province for beekeeping due to its high altitude, extensive meadows, and the density of endemic plants.
