Challenges of Beekeeping in Extremadura

Beekeepers in Extremadura have stated that, while the situation in the sector has improved over the past year, there are two essential aspects to ensure their survival: honey prices and the fight against varroa, which has become the greatest health scourge for hives. Many of these professionals gather in the Cáceres town of Caminomorisco to participate in the tenth edition of the International Beekeeping and Tourism Fair of Las Hurdes, which brings together more than sixty exhibitors from nine countries, establishing itself as a reference event in the sector.
