Beekeeping routes will contribute to tourism

Prof. Dr. Aslı Özkırım, a faculty member of the Biology Department at Hacettepe University, stated that the beekeeping routes they have created within the scope of "api Tourism" will contribute to tourism. Özkırım, who is also the Director of the Hacettepe University Bee and Bee Products Application and Research Center, gave a presentation on "api tourism," which combines beekeeping and nature tourism, at the Edirne Chamber of Commerce and Industry as part of the ApiTURroute Project. Stating that Turkey is a paradise for beekeeping and ranks second in the world, Özkırım said, "We only associate bees with honey. We need to show their role in the ecosystem and in pollination and plant diversity."
