Argentina advances in the production of varroa-resistant bees

A breeding project for varroa-resistant bees in northwestern Argentina is yielding very promising results. This is demonstrated by data from a recent study that shows how these bees, without the aid of medications, have lower varroa infestation rates than those that do receive treatments. Since varroa spread through Western beekeeping, devastating millions of hives worldwide, beekeepers have used all kinds of remedies to combat this mite.
