1,200 Hives Burned in Forest Fires

The forest fires that have occurred so far have severely affected beekeepers as well. According to data collected from the field by the Turkish Beekeepers Central Union (TAB), a total of 1,208 bee hives have been completely burned in the fires that have occurred to date. Considering that each hive has an average honey yield of 15 kilograms, it is estimated that approximately 18,000 kilograms of honey loss has occurred.
