Cleaning and Cannibalism: Videos Reveal Unknown Details of the Honeybee

A publication from the journal PLOS ONE revealed previously unseen behaviors of honeybees. In a study, Dr. Paul Siefert from Goethe University in Germany, along with his team, observed thousands of events captured on video to analyze how these insects work and feed. The study notes that while observations of honeybee behaviors date back centuries, visual representations of many behaviors within the hive exist only in linear drawings that are limited to representations of certain key moments.
