From the City to Nature: The Beekeeping Adventure

Aysel and Kamil Işık in Van are managing 350 hives with support from the government, but they cannot keep up with the orders. The couple, who left city life and settled in the Övecik neighborhood of the Çatak district, started beekeeping three years ago with the support they received from the government and have increased their number of hives to 350. They harvest an average of 2.5 tons of honey each year and sell their products to breakfast establishments and customers from outside the province. With the help of their children, they have started the honey harvest this year.
