In the Ovacık district of Tunceli, 197 producers have started to harvest the organic honey they produced in 20,189 hives.
Ovacık, known for its untouched nature, offers a suitable environment for beekeeping with its plant diversity and endemic species. Beekeepers who bring their bees to the district in the spring obtain the necessary permits and stay in the high pastures at an altitude of 2,000 meters in the Munzur Mountains throughout the summer.
During this process, beekeepers, who take care of their bee colonies, have begun honey harvesting to reap the rewards of their months of hard work.
Beekeepers enter the hives at certain times of the day, donning their protective clothing and opening the hive lids one by one.
