Apimondia 2025 will not award the best honey in the world due to fraud

For the first time, the World Beekeeping Congress, Apimondia, will not award the best honey in the world in 2025. This category is being removed from the World Beekeeping Awards because the organizers cannot guarantee that the competing honeys are free from fraud. From September 23 to 27, 2025, the global beekeeping community will gather in Copenhagen, Denmark, but the organization has decided to eliminate the honey competition due to the inability to fully analyze the submitted honeys for possible adulteration.
