How is Royal Jelly Produced?

Categories How is Royal Jelly Produced? March 21, 2025

A queen bee is taken from a hive, and 1-2 frames containing eggs and 1-day-old larvae are provided from other hives to this hive every day. This encourages the worker bees to produce queen cells. After this process, the highest yield is obtained from 3-day-old queen bee larvae cells. The royal jelly formed in these cells in the frames is collected with special wooden spoons. This production technique continues for 20-30 days in the hive. Afterwards, a queen bee is given back to the hive, and the colony returns to its original state. With this natural production method, approximately 20-25 grams of royal jelly is obtained from one hive.
