The Erzincan Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry published a message on the occasion of "May 20 World Bee Day." The message stated, "World Bee Day; The draft resolution to declare May 20 as 'World Bee Day' was unanimously adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 20, 2017, with the joint sponsorship of 115 countries, including our country. Erzincan is an important center for beekeeping activities thanks to its current climate and vegetation. In our province, over 100 thousand colonies produce more than 1 million kg of honey, which is in demand throughout the country under the Erzincan honey label. One of our significant products is Refahiye Honey, produced in our Refahiye district, which has a Geographical Indication Registration Certificate."
