Mersin, which ranks among the top 5 in beekeeping in Turkey, experienced a harsh winter followed by agricultural frost, causing spring to arrive late, with the flowering season starting two weeks behind schedule. With the blooming of flowers at sea level, millions of bees began to collect pollen. The harvest of the pollen, which the bees collect gram by gram, has also started. Pollen, which is noted for its price of around 1300 TL per kilogram, draws attention as a natural protein source. The season, which started at sea level, is expected to be fruitful in the Taurus Mountains and Eğriçayır plateau.
