Bodrum beekeeper brings his hives to Yüksekova for 39 years

Hasan Ocak (53), who practices beekeeping in Bodrum, Muğla, has been bringing his hives to the highlands of Yüksekova, Hakkari, which is at an altitude of 2,500 meters, every spring for 39 years. Ocak stated that the mountains and hills surrounding the district have a rich vegetation cover and floral diversity, and he mentioned that he will start honey harvesting in about a month and that he has never returned empty-handed from Yüksekova since he started coming here.

Located to the west of Cilo, to the north of Mor, to the east of the Iranian border mountains, and to the south of the Sipiriz mountain range, Yüksekova hosts hundreds of beekeepers every year thanks to its floral diversity and rich vegetation cover.
