Concerns Over Bee Deaths

The unproductive honey season in Van has caused concern. It has been reported that the honey season has been poor due to seasonal conditions, raising fears of potential bee deaths.

Halil Tandoğan, President of the Van Beekeepers Union, stated that they are experiencing a dry and unproductive honey season this year, attributing it to the lack of timely seasonal conditions. Tandoğan said, "Hives that cannot produce honey or store enough will not survive the winter. We are worried that there will be a significant number of bee deaths. When bees are on the edge, if this is not overcome, they will face extinction."
