The opening photo of the June issue is dedicated to the beekeeper as an innovator. Maurizio Ghezzi, in his article THE INNOVATIVE BEEKEEPER, discusses the importance of the continuous search for more sustainable techniques, the adoption of practices aimed at the well-being of the colonies, and the constant study of bee behavior, all activities that testify to a profession in continuous evolution. The editorial by Massimo Ilari, THE CULTURE OF THE LAND, draws a red thread between the various themes addressed in this issue: innovation, the relationship between agriculture and beekeeping, nature, and organic practices. Speaking of agriculture and beekeeping, here is the interview by Enrico Pasini with Virginia Ruspolini DIALOGUE BETWEEN FARMERS AND BEEKEEPERS: COLLABORATION AND NOT OPPOSITION. A special perspective strengthened by Ruspolini's dual experience as a beekeeper and agricultural entrepreneur and her recent role as president of the young agricultural entrepreneurs association of CIA Umbria. The article WILD, WHAT A PASSION, by Massimo Ilari, addresses, using testimonies and publications from industry experts, the relationship between cooking, wild herbs, and bees. Indeed, the bee contributes significantly to the conservation of wild flora and the maintenance of ecological balance through the valuable service of pollination. And speaking of bees, ONLY YOUNG QUEENS? is the title of the article by Giuseppe Morosin and Massimiliano Gnesotto, which highlights how too often there is a rush to change the queen in the hope that they will not swarm and be more efficient. Closing the first-page quartet is the article by Aristide Colonna and Beti Piotto titled HONEY AND CHOCOLATE, where the advantages of the circular economy blend with the goodness of a product that could also find a place in haute cuisine. The June issue features other engaging and interesting articles, which we summarize below. Happy reading.
