Visit to the hardest-working female workers in the world

Werbung Heavily attended were the open hive days at the Greilinger beekeeping family in Sitzendorf an der Schmida. The local students also paid a visit to the bees – but searched in vain for the queen bee.

The open hive day is a nationwide initiative in Austria, where beekeepers open their doors. Visitors of all ages can experience the fascinating life of honey bees up close, take a look inside the hives, and learn about honey production as well as the environment. Just like in the idyllic courtyard of the Greilinger family.
