Dubai schools promote bee conservation for a sustainable food future.

Dubai's Terra Expo City has launched the 100 Hives initiative to educate students about the critical role of pollinators in food security. Dr. Meriem Hammal, manager of the Pollinator Programme, highlighted that while there are around 20,000 bee species, only seven produce honey; the rest are vital for pollination, contributing to 75-80% of human food supply. The initiative aims to deepen students' connection with nature through hands-on learning, starting with the installation of a beehive at Deira International School.
