Pendleton Heights Bee Installation Promotes Pollinator Education and Native Planting

The Pendleton Heights Community Orchard hosted its annual Bee Installation on June 26 at 2617 Lexington Ave, promoting local education with various informational tables. In collaboration with BEE KC, a nonprofit managing 150 honeybee hives and native bee habitats, this event has been held for five years alongside an August honey harvest. Shannon Colligan, a steward of the orchard, emphasized the importance of bees for the ecosystem and food supply, noting that the orchard provides locally grown food accessible to the community.
