The "Cool Garden Wolves," a children's group from the Volkach Fruit and Horticultural Association, understand the vital role bees play in nature. To experience this firsthand, they visited the beekeeping operation of Lukas and Matthias Beuerlein in Gaibach. After a brief introduction to beekeeping, the children donned authentic beekeeper suits and explored a real beehive. They learned to distinguish between the queen bee, worker bees, and drones, and even handled some wax combs. The use of a smoker, which calms the bees with smoke, was also demonstrated, allowing the children to safely interact with the drones without any stings.
