The beekeeping laboratory in Santander de Quilichao will focus on breeding and genetic improvement of queen bees from the Apis mellifera species, as reported by the Municipal Administration. The facility was funded by the Santander de Quilichao Mayor's Office through the Economic and Agro-environmental Secretariat, as part of initiatives aimed at the local beekeeping sector. The lab will be equipped with an incubator, stereoscope, digital scale, and centrifuge, which will assist in the technical processes of breeding, selecting, and evaluating queen bees.
