Blackburn Meadows energy plant welcomes new pollinator residents.

On July 8, 2026, E.ON's Blackburn Meadows renewable energy plant in Sheffield is enhancing local biodiversity by introducing beehives to the site. This new initiative complements the biomass power station, which generates electricity from recycled waste wood and provides heat to local customers, including Forgemasters and Ikea. The plant is situated in a green landscape, making it ideal for supporting pollinators and improving the surrounding habitats.
