Castel Malawi Limited has provided beekeeping equipment to communities near the Lunyangwa catchment area in Mzuzu, aiming to encourage honey production instead of deforestation. During a symbolic presentation last Thursday, Gloria Zimba, the Director of Corporate Affairs, stated that this initiative, which began in 2022, will economically empower local communities and help protect the forest reserve. Zimba expressed hope that residents would prioritize honey production over tree cutting.
