Bees establish colony beneath decking in Bovington.

A family in Bovington discovered an unexpected colony of bees residing under their decking in April 2025, which remained for 15 months, leading to an extraordinary extraction in Dorset. Rachel Tapping, her partner Paul, and their daughter Belle initially thought the swarm would leave quickly. Ms. Tapping remarked, "They moved in under the decking in April 2025," and expected them to depart by winter. However, by spring 2026, the colony grew significantly, thriving in the warm weather.
