However, they now face challenges to their existence in the forests where they help sustain the ecosystem by protecting nature and transporting pollen. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's proposed "land rent" of 100 TL per hive is not just a fee but a severe blow to the beekeeping sector. Beekeepers, who only provide shelter for their bees in the shade of trees without receiving security, social services, or humane assistance, will struggle to pay this fee.
