Beekeeping in Castilla y León is calling for urgent measures to address the increasing damage caused by brown bears and the spread of Vespa velutina. These threats, combined with a honey price crisis and rising production costs, are jeopardizing the profitability of many beekeeping operations. COAG warns that the situation is worsening, particularly in mountainous areas where attacks on hives and the presence of the Asian hornet have become persistent issues, necessitating additional investments for hive protection and survival.
