Chillicothe Beekeeper Generates Excitement in the Community

CHILLICOTHE (25News Now) - A proposal to legalize beekeeping in Chillicothe is set for a city council vote next month. Luke Harvey, a certified master beekeeper and owner of Riverview Road Apiary, left his engineering job at Caterpillar to focus on beekeeping. He previously collaborated with the Chillicothe Public Library to establish hives for educational purposes, aiming to raise awareness about the significance of bees and their conservation. Harvey hopes the legalization will allow more residents to engage in beekeeping and support pollinator populations. Currently, beekeeping is restricted to specific areas, excluding the library.
