Summer hive management techniques to be shared with Eastern Shore beekeepers July 25

Beekeepers on the Eastern Shore can enhance their summer hive management skills at a workshop on July 25 at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Research, Extension and Teaching Farm in Princess Anne. Titled “Summer Hive Inspections: Strategies and Tips for the Dog Days of Summer,” the event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and aims to assist beekeepers in addressing the challenges posed by summer heat and humidity. Led by apiary manager Stephen Goewey, the workshop will cover seasonal colony management, hive inspections, and essential beekeeping practices.
