Kiawah River aids Edisto Gold Honey amid hive fire damage.

Kiawah River, an Agrihood community in South Carolina, is nurturing its partnership with local farmers, including Edisto Gold Honey, which maintains two bee yards on-site. This location, the company's first outsourced site established three years ago, faced a significant challenge recently when a grass fire, sparked by an ember from a smoker, destroyed 40 to 60 hives during a severe drought. Mark Connelly, the founder of Edisto Gold Honey, expressed the difficulty of the situation, noting the loss of hives was a major setback.
