Darlington Beekeepers Association installs solar panels at their apiary

The Darlington Beekeepers Association (DBKA) has installed solar panels at its Denes Apiary to enhance its educational facilities. This initiative provides electricity for lighting, heating, and hot water, facilitating visits from schools and community groups. The solar system aligns with DBKA's goal of integrating beekeeping into the local community.

Victoria McCartney, chair of DBKA, expressed enthusiasm about the potential for increased school visits due to the new energy source. She emphasized the importance of children witnessing bees and hives firsthand, which enhances their learning experience.
