Orange County community secured following beehive incident.

On Sunday, an 18-wheeler carrying around 406 beehives overturned in Mauriceville, Texas, leading to a temporary lockdown in the neighborhood as millions of honeybees were released. Orange County Emergency Services District No. 4 reported the incident occurred near FM 1130 and Colony Drive, prompting officials to advise residents to stay indoors due to the high bee activity.
The crash damaged many hives, causing large swarms to spread throughout the area. Emergency responders, sheriff’s deputies, and local beekeepers worked for hours to manage the situation and recover the colonies. Video footage from Christie Ray of Queen Bee Supply showed swarms clustering on various surfaces while crews in protective gear attempted to relocate the bees.
