On July 22, 2026, Bayram Ay, the Provincial Director, and Akın Çiftçi, President of the Ordu Beekeepers Association, visited beekeepers practicing migratory beekeeping in rural areas of Erzincan, Erzurum, Bingöl, Muş, Hakkari, Van, and Ağrı. Accompanied by Dr. Ersin Dilber, the General Director of Food and Control, they also participated in the honey harvest of beekeeper Sıtkı Bozkurt in Özalp, Van. During the visit, Ay stated, "We are currently in Van, visiting migratory beekeepers facing challenging conditions across the country. We are assessing their issues firsthand and understanding the stages honey goes through before reaching our tables. Last June, we also visited migratory beekeepers in Sivas and Erzincan."
