Manisa and İzmir Metropolitan Municipalities have initiated a collaborative protocol aimed at environmental protection and rural development. The project will establish honey forests in phases around the Gördes Dam, covering approximately 2,000 decares of land acquired by İZSU. The first phase will involve planting around 500,000 plants over 580 decares. This initiative aims to protect the Gördes Dam, a vital drinking water source for İzmir, while also supporting beekeeping activities in Manisa to enhance rural development.
