After nearly 15 years, the anime series "Maya the Bee" is set to return to free television in Germany. Recent updates from ZDFneo's programming schedule reveal that the show will be back next month. Here are the key details.

"Maya the Bee" will premiere on August 28, 2026, airing double episodes from Monday to Friday at 6:30 AM on ZDFneo. Following the broadcasts, episodes will be available on the ZDF media library. The 104-episode children's series, originally aired in Japan from April 1975 to September 1983, was produced by Nippon Animation, with Hiroshi Saitou directing. The show first debuted in Germany on September 9, 1976, and its last regular free-TV airing occurred in summer 2012 on KiKA, with only sporadic episodes shown since then.
