Crossgates honey receives top honors at 2026 Great Taste Awards

A family-run beekeeping venture in Crossgates is celebrating after winning multiple awards at the 2026 Great Taste Awards, a notable UK food competition. Main’s Apiaries, operated part-time by Ross and Laurie Main, received accolades for all four honey varieties they submitted.

Three of their honeys—Ling Heather Honey, Local Blossom Honey, and Soft Set Blossom Honey—each earned a prestigious two-star rating, awarded to about 10% of entries. Additionally, their Heather Blend Honey received a one-star rating. The couple has managed to grow their business while balancing full-time jobs and family commitments.
