Bilal Salcı, President of the Bingöl Honey Producers Union, emphasized the need for a new strategy to combat the Varroa mite, a major threat to beekeeping. He has reached out to the Bingöl Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry for a coordinated effort. Salcı noted that individual efforts have proven insufficient in effectively addressing Varroa, stating that a collective approach during the broodless autumn and early spring would significantly benefit the beekeeping economy and enhance honey quality.
