Man fills his living room with thousands of bees for a reason

In Anchorage, Alaska, Tim Huffman, a backyard beekeeper with thousands of bees, decided to bring one colony indoors for a closer inspection. He wanted to observe hive activity beyond what he could see from the outside, noting that while he could gauge bee activity by their entrance and exit patterns, the internal workings remained a mystery. This curiosity led him to create an observation hive, which he likened to an aquarium filled with bees, allowing them to enter and exit through a connected pipe.
