Pichilemu celebrated National Honey Day by honoring local beekeepers whose work is vital for the rural economy and biodiversity in O'Higgins. Established by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2009, this day emphasizes the significance of beekeeping, appreciates local apiarists, and encourages the consumption of this nutritious food. Honey production is closely linked to the role of bees as pollinators, crucial for crops and ecosystems, a fact reiterated by the municipality amid environmental pressures on these insects.
