On August 7, 2026, videos from Gaza highlight rooftop beekeeping. After losing nearly 400 hives during the conflict, beekeeper Ibrahim al-Dabba has persevered. He has restarted his work on a rooftop in Tel al-Hawa, Gaza City. As the head of the Gaza beekeepers' cooperative, he reports that over 95% of the beekeeping sector has been devastated by the war. The agricultural areas essential for bees are located near the borders, which were the first to be affected by the fighting. Nevertheless, he continues to rebuild, hive by hive.
