Truckee becomes a Bee City USA to promote pollinator protection.

Truckee, California, has officially joined the Bee City USA program after the Town Council passed a resolution on Tuesday, recognizing the town's commitment to protecting native pollinators through habitat improvement, education, and sustainable land management. The initiative began in 2024, inspired by students from Tahoe Expedition Academy who urged the town to seek this designation. The proposal was incorporated into the Town’s strategic priorities for consideration as resources permitted.
