The honey harvest is nearing completion in Kalbajar, Azerbaijan, where beekeepers are pleased with this season's production. According to AZERTAC, the mountainous region, known for its rich honey-making traditions, has benefited from abundant vegetation, linden forests, and mountain flowers, enhancing both honey yield and quality. Since 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture has facilitated the annual relocation of apiaries to Kalbajar's pastures. In 2026 alone, 3,396 farmers brought 148,308 bee colonies to the area. Beekeepers report that this year's production has surpassed previous seasons. The final honey extraction is currently underway, with the honey being stored, packaged, and prepared for sale. The revival of beekeeping in Kalbajar also signifies a return to this traditional practice and a boost to the local rural economy.
