Mersin Metropolitan Municipality is enhancing agricultural development through its projects, including the 'Golden Hive Project,' which supports beekeeping while contributing to nature conservation and the future of agricultural production. This initiative, implemented by the Agricultural Services Department, aims to bolster sustainable production and assist local producers.

The Golden Hive Project provides small and medium-sized beekeepers with hives and necessary equipment, enabling them to produce honey and other bee products. This support not only strengthens the economic capacity of beekeepers but also promotes sustainable rural production. Kudret Ateş, a beekeeper from Erdemli, has benefited from this project, which aids in ecosystem strengthening as well.
