On August 14, 2026, in Manisa's Şehzadeler district, beekeeper Şehbaz Gündoğdu received 20 new hives as 100% grant support after losing 140 hives in a fire. The Manisa Metropolitan Municipality provided this assistance to help him resume his beekeeping activities.

The fire occurred last month in the Ilıca area of Harmandalı Mahallesi, damaging both occupied and empty hives owned by Gündoğdu. A damage assessment report was prepared by the Central Gendarmerie Command and the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department to document the losses, leading to the provision of 20 Langstroth hives to support the beekeeper's return to production.
