Onslow County beekeepers announce winners of 2026 honey-tasting competition

Onslow County, N.C. — The Onslow County Beekeepers Association has announced the winners of its annual blind honey-tasting competition. Participants submitted unmarked jars of honey from their own hives, which were wrapped in foil to hide their color and the entrants' identities. Attendees at the meeting voted for their favorite based solely on taste. J.P. O’Donnell took first place, followed by Cindy Hewitt in second and O.C. Rogers in third. The association noted that this enjoyable contest highlights the value of locally sourced honey and the efforts of local beekeepers.
