Beekeeper Kubilay Balat, 30, from Muğla, continues his family's beekeeping legacy with 250 hives after inheriting the profession from his late father, who passed away in 2019. Balat, along with his wife and two children, is dedicated to producing honey in Edirne, where they have been working diligently since arriving in Uzunbayır village on April 23.

Initially focusing on producing karacalı honey, the family later relocated their hives to central Edirne for sunflower honey production. Balat reported a moderate yield this year and plans to return to Muğla for pine honey production after the Edirne season concludes. He highlighted the challenges of migratory beekeeping, noting the need to transport hives quickly and manage them carefully during the night.
