NEW HAVEN, Vt. (WCAX) - The One Hive Foundation is facilitating a global mural initiative in Vermont, highlighting a local mural that promotes awareness of pollinators. Artist Matt Willy from New York has dedicated five weeks to painting a silo near the Addison County Fair and Field Days, focusing on the significance of honey bees as pollinators. The foundation hosted a community gathering on Saturday evening at the silo to promote ecological responsibility. “This historic farm in New Haven, Vt. aims to emphasize beekeepers as farmers and encourage passersby to recognize the importance of pollinators,” stated Sydney Miller from One Hive Foundation. “As a former honey bee researcher, it’s wonderful to see such a project highlighting their value,” Miller added. The event, featuring food and music, continues until 9 p.m. Saturday, with Willy anticipating the mural's completion by next spring.
