Experts emphasize the urgent need to implement the "five freedoms" of animal welfare in beekeeping practices. The Agropecuary Sciences Institute (ICAp) convened national specialists to address practices that inflict suffering on pollinators. In Tulancingo, Hgo., the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH) highlighted the importance of transforming apiculture by adopting ethical principles and animal welfare, moving away from viewing bees merely as production machines.
