Gökçimen, a 24-year-old contracted municipal employee from Orduyeri Mahallesi, began beekeeping as a hobby two years ago with five hives, inspired by his love for camping and forests. Enjoying the work, he decided to pursue beekeeping professionally, increasing his hives to 30 with family support. He manages his hives daily in a forested area in Akgöz village and has produced about 100 kilograms of honey this season. Gökçimen has applied for the Rural Development Investments Support Program by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to expand his hives and continue his professional journey.
