August 26, 2026 - Elazığ is experiencing a positive beekeeping season, with honey yields per hive increasing to 8-10 kilograms, up from an average of 6 kilograms last year. Fırat Canbay, President of the Elazığ Beekeepers Association, noted that this year's season has been more favorable in terms of both honey production and colony numbers compared to the previous year. The region has around 1,200 registered beekeepers managing over 100,000 hives.

Canbay highlighted that the rainfall throughout the year significantly benefited the plant flora, leading to a productive spring for beekeepers. He stated that the improved vegetation and abundant nectar sources positively impacted beekeeping activities, making the spring season particularly satisfying for local beekeepers.
